Core Mechanics

Gaining and Regenerating Chakra

To gain chakra, you need to earn the "SHIONBI" achievement by crafting 1 kunai and 1 shuriken

kunai

shuriken

Regeneration happens automatically, but once you reach the cap of 20,000 max chakra you can no longer gain it the normal way (by dealing damage). Instead you'll need to seek out Uzumaki Temples, which contain sealed Hashirama flesh — unsealing it gives a random chance to obtain the flesh itself.

Using the flesh:

Once you've obtained Hashirama's flesh, take it in hand and right-click. With a chance depending on your clan, you will implant the flesh into yourself, increasing your max chakra by 1000. On failure, all your base stats will be permanently weakened by 1%.

Learning and Using Jutsu

Obtaining Jutsu

To learn a jutsu, you need to find the corresponding scroll in one of the dungeons

  • Konoha - fire and earth jutsu + Minato's cloak and the ANBU sword
  • Suna (sand) - wind jutsu
  • Kirigakure - water jutsu + a chance to find Kubikiribōchō (Zabuza's sword)
  • Iwa (stone) - earth jutsu
  • Kumo (lightning) - lightning jutsu

Each village has its own spawn biome:

Konoha - Forest biomes

("minecraft:forest", "minecraft:flower_forest", "minecraft:birch_forest", "minecraft:old_growth_birch_forest", "minecraft:dark_forest")

Suna - Deserts and semi-deserts

("minecraft:desert", "minecraft:badlands", "minecraft:eroded_badlands", "minecraft:wooded_badlands")

Kiri - Water biomes and swamps

("minecraft:swamp", "minecraft:mangrove_swamp", "minecraft:ocean", "minecraft:deep_ocean", "minecraft:warm_ocean")

Iwa - Mountain and hill biomes

("minecraft:jagged_peaks", "minecraft:stony_peaks", "minecraft:stony_shore", "minecraft:meadow", "minecraft:windswept_hills")

Kumo - Mountain and foothill biomes

("minecraft:frozen_peaks", "minecraft:jagged_peaks", "minecraft:stony_peaks", "minecraft:meadow")

Skill System

Brief overview of the system

Since version 1.5.0, most of the mod's functionality is implemented through a skill tree. Skills govern the damage bonus, the % by which chakra costs are reduced when using jutsu, and the cast time of those jutsu.

Version 1.5.0 added 3 branches: 1 general and 2 clan-specific. Skill points are calculated using the same formula as chakra XP (CXP). Some skills require other skills to be learned first — for example, "Sealing Ability."

Main branches

There are 4 main branches in total (+ a jinchūriki offshoot). They will be covered from top to bottom.

Power branch

The power branch is primarily responsible for the bonus to damage dealt. The Gates branch also splits off from it. Gate 1 allows you to use all gates up to Gate 7. The final node in this branch is Gate 8, which allows you to activate the Eighth Gate.

Spirit branch

Lets you gain more chakra from less damage (sets the divisor for damage).

Chakra branch

This branch determines the chakra cost of using a given technique — the higher the level, the less chakra is spent (base reduction of up to 75%).

Knowledge branch

Governs the speed at which XP is added to techniques — the higher the skill level, the faster you learn new jutsu.

Jinchūriki offshoot

This offshoot depends entirely on leveling up other skills. The "Techniques I-III" skills are fully dependent on one another — without learning "Techniques I" you won't be able to learn the others.

Clan branches

Version 1.5.0 added 2 branches: Uchiha and Hyūga. They have both shared (currently) skills ("Blood Power") as well as individual bonuses to base elements and skills required to awaken their dōjutsu.
